Gerina Stevenson, the Mexican child of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, is born in Mexico. The mother of two is a Mexican American and is American of nationality. From the time she was a kid, she has had a strong determination to be involved in athletics. Gerina began golfing when she was 15 years of age. Gerina went to Goddard High School for her secondary education. She won an award at the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. A volleyball player, she was also a participant in state tournaments. In the year 2003 she enrolled at the University of Texas. In her final year, she took home every single tournament she competed in. During her undergrad career she took home awards such as the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year and UTEP Female athlete of the year.
